The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club
August 13, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club
Music by Cameron Graham, Styrian Artist in Residence 2020
1_ The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club is the imagined love child of a night club, a caravan park and a forgotten sound archive.
2_ The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club is a distant homage to the hazy, strange, sensorial qualities of the holiday park and the sleepy rave.
3_ The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club is scraps of previous works, recordings and discarded sketches, cherished trash objects, hybrid instruments, neon lights, virtual simulation and cloud gazing.
4_ The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club is a kind of sticky ambient mess around the five performing musicians of the Schallfeld Ensemble.
5_ The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club is acoustic and electronic, real and virtual, plastic and ephemeral.
6_ The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club is tinged with the indulgences of biography and the uncanny surface beauty of fake realities.
7_ The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club is an assemblage of my own sonic and visual tastes, past and present, this in the form of a strange, but hopefully familiar dream.
I must give huge thanks to the musicians and technical members of the Schallfeld Ensemble, the team at Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz, Ronny and the Styria-Artist-in-Residence Fellowship. Without them, The Noise and Hardware Caravan Club would simply never have formed.
