Elisa Azzarà

Elisa Azzarà was born in 1986 in Pisa, Italy. She started her flute studies with Lucia Neri and graduated with full marks in flute under the lead of Stefano Agostini at the music Institute “P. Mascagni” in Livorno; in 2008 she spent a semester in Cordoba, Spain, studying with Wendela van Swol. In 2010 she moved to Austria to attend the Master “Performance Practice in Contemporary Music” led by the ensemble KlangforumWien, under the tutoring of Eva Furrer and Vera Fischer; she graduated with honor in 2013 and decided to continue her studies with Eszter Alföldy Boruss. Elisa Azzarà attended masterclasses held by musicians like C.Klemm, E. Klambauer, M. Marasco, M. Allin, Manon Liu Winter, Frank Gratkowski, Mario Caroli; she participated to academies for contemporary music like IMPULS, Atlas and Ensemble Linea Academy. She took part to events like Festival dei Due Mondi, Biennale Venezia, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Impuls Festival. In 2014 she won the first prize at the competition “Giovani Musicisti-Città di Treviso” in the category “contemporary music”. She has a special interest in improvisation, and a predilection for interdisciplinary contexts. In the past years she took part to theater productions with ensembles like Teatro Saraband and Ensemble of the University Carlos III (Madrid). Elisa Azzarà was also trained in Elementary Music Education and in the last years has been leading several music workshops for children.

Elisa Azzarà wurde 1986 in Pisa, Italien, geboren. Flötenstudium bei Lucia Neri, Stefano Agostini, Wendela van Swol und Eszter Alföldy-Boruss. Von 2010 bis 2013 studierte sie im Masterstudium Performance Practice in Contemporary Music an der Kunstuniversität Graz unter der Anleitung von Klangforum Wien (Flötenstudium bei Eva Furrer und Vera Fischer), das sie 2013 mit Auszeichnung abschloss; neben ihrer künstlerischen Ausbildung absolvierte sie ein musikpädagogisches Studium in Italien. Während ihrer Ausbildung nahm sie an Meisterkursen international bekannter Flötist/innen und Improvisationsmusiker/innen teil, wie z. B. Mario Caroli (Academie des Ensembles Linea), Erwin Klambauer, Michele Marasco, Manon Liu Winter und Frank Gratkowsky (IMPULS Academy für zeitgenössische Musik Graz). Elisa Azzarà trat mit verschiedenen Ensembles bei Festivals wie Biennale Venedig, Festival dei Due Mondi, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Impuls. Beim Wettbewerb “Giovani Musicisti – Città di Treviso” wurde sie mit dem ersten Preis in der Kategorie “zeitgenössische Musik” ausgezeichnet. Ihr besonderes künstlerisches Interesse gilt der Improvisation sowie der Arbeit im Kontext von Theater und Musik (Produktionen u.a. mit dem jungen Ensemble Teatro Saraband). Sie ist Gründungsmitglied des Ensembles und Vereins Schallfeld, Graz.
