Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka

Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka studied double bass and musicology in Dresden and Rostock, as well as a master in contemporary music in Graz with Klangforum Wien. Currently she works as a freelance musician specialized in contemporary music, improvisation and interdisciplinary performing arts besides doing sound art and sound design for radio, film and installative formats. She also holds a doctorate in Music Aesthetics and is active as a freelance researcher and lecturer, specializing in music, performance and media studies. https://suonoreale.mur.at

Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka studierte Kontrabass und Musikwissenschaft in Dresden und Rostock, sowie zeitgenössische Musik bei Klangforum Wien in Graz. Derzeit ist sie tätig als freischaffende Musikerin mit Schwerpunkt auf zeitgenössische Musik, Improvisation und interdisziplinäre Performances. Außerdem gestaltet sie Klangkunstarbeiten und Sounddesign für Radio, Film und installative Formate. Sie promovierte 2020 im Fach Musikästhetik und arbeitet seitdem als freie Wissenschaftlerin und Lektorin mit Arbeitsschwerpunkt Musik, Performance- und Medienforschung.
